What is the difference between FBS3 and FBS4?
- FBS4: Late 2015 For sure FBS4… 222, 231, 205, 117, 2012 model year and up 212 and 218, 166 and 190
Note that FBS4 was added to 212 207 etc at mid 2013 (804) not in MY 2012
Also, you can check SA Codes on vehicle data card or use any suitable online vin decoder to see SA codes related to your vin. You are looking for the presence of SA code 803 or 804, depending on the Model this means vehicle is FBS4 related.
MY2013, Model 166 with Code 803, Models 207 and 212 with Code 804.
FBS4 models: April 2013 to Present, Model W212; July 2013 to Present, Models 166, 207, V212; September 2014 to Present, Model 218; November 2014 to Present, Models 117, 156; April 2015 to Present, Model 172; MY-AII, Models 205, 217, 218, 222, 231.

1. Review on Xentry (genuine or with an authorized online account)
With genuine xentry and daimler fbs server. It is very fast and easy to program FBS4 blank keys every day via OBD. Or with Xentry and an authorized online account (not all online accounts have access to program keys).
2. AVDI Abrites FBS4 Manager review
Prepare: AVDI interface with an active AMS, so that you can perform FBS4 Manager special functions (Tokens are not required).
FBS4 Manager is a special function dedicated to the newest generation Mercedes- Benz FBS (DAS) related modules. It is the place which all the capacities for FBS4 (around 2015+) vehicles will be developed. For the moment the focus of the capacities falls on its service related abilities. It allows the following for modules installed in Mercedes vehicles equipped with the FBS4 generation of DAS:
– Renewal of FBS4 7G Tronic units 722.9 (VGSNAG2). ALL BY OBD or internal CANBUS.
– Renewal of FBS4 CRD 3.X Engine Control Units. ALL BY OBD or internal CANBUS.
3. Diagspeed is not the FBS4 solution yet
Although Diagspeed announced they will be able to program FBS4, they do not confirm yet. As known, Diagspeed is well-received being the best in the Mercedes world to make keys. let us wait and see
- VVDI MB FBS4 Review
VVDI MB is able to disable FBS4 key function.

It covers W166/W205/W213/W218/W222/W246 type.
- CG MB can read FBS4 key data
So far, CG MB is able to read FBS4 keys and tells if it’s in a working status or if the key is broken; CG MB is not able to make calculation for FBS4 yet.

I want to program a key on a W205 (FSB4).
1: Is it possible to find an online access to program the fsb4 keys? it seems to me that not all accesses have the possibility of programming the FSB4

the guy who programs has to request authorization from mercedes with customer information to be able to program?
Not with the information of the costumer. The one who has the authorization to program keys his whole data are on database. So the Company can take a look where and when he programmed keys and for which VIN. So this guy will get in trouble if there is no official request or order. I work for Mercedes-Benz and know the protocol
